Lodging
Packages: If you book a package for 4 or 7 days you can choose between hotels, apartments and shared chalets. There are four categories:
- Wood: Basic lodging
- Bronze: Standard lodging (e.g. ***-hotels)
- Silver: Premium lodging
- Gold: Luxury lodging
For hotels you can check their website for details and more pictures of your preferred room type as the pictures in the shop and the simulator are only examples of what to expect. For most apartments you can´t check ahead how your room will look exactly as most of them are very different in style but there´s a description of what´s provided in your apartment. Note: Bed types of apartments can vary, so be prepared that you might get anything from a sofa bed, a bunk bed, single beds to a double bed.
There are also a few shared lodgings (called Shared Chalet in the simulator/shop). Booking a room in one of those chalets means that you will have your own room, sometimes also with an ensuite bathroom, but you will share the living room and the kitchen with other people of tomorrow. Read the description of those lodgings carefully for details.
Many apartments in the shop are named after the part of the town they´re located at. You can find a map of the town and its sectors here.
Individual lodging: If you rather book your lodging yourself, you can check the website of Alpe Locations Vacances.
They only offer bookings for entire weeks though. Depending on your budget booking with them and buying a Festival Pass can be a few Euro cheaper than booking a package via Tomorrowland. If you book with them you will also know in advance which exact apartment you will be staying at.
Alternatively there are other companies like Alpe d´Huez Houses and Maeva which rent out a couple of apartments too.
Note: Final cleaning, towels and bed linen aren´t always provided. In that case you can add them for a fee. Check the description on the particular lodging on the websites of the aforementioned agencies.
You can also book an AirBnB of course but always keep in mind that the host might cancel your booking last minute if someone is willing to pay more.
Most important if you book a lodging yourself: Make sure that it is located in Alpe d´Huez and not in one of the surrounding towns (Huez Village, Auris, Oz, Villard Reculas Vaujany, Bourg d´Oisans) unless you have access to your own or a rental car and are willing to drive to Alpe d´Huez and back each day. There are lifts connecting the towns during the day and you can use all of them with the skipass included in your Tomorrowland ticket but there´s no public transport at night and only very few taxis. Chances of getting a taxi at night after the festival ends are very low.
Packages with lodging in surrounding villages
Sunweb, the travel partner of Tomorrowland Winter, offers a limited amount of packages with lodging in the villages of Oz-en-Oisans or Auris via their own sale channels. Check their website for details.
Important: If you book directly with Sunweb, make sure to add the festival ticket and the shuttle or you will certainly end up being very disappointed as you won´t have access to the stages in the town at night without a valid festival ticket. The shuttle will be important to get you back at night as there is no public transport after the festival ends and almost no taxis are available. You can´t add the festival ticket and the shuttle at a later stage so check your cart carefully before finalizing your booking. However, the shuttle only runs on the main festival days (Wednesday - Friday).
