Supermarkets

Sometimes you like to save a bit of money instead of spending it at one of the many restaurants in the town or you just want to have a nice breakfast at your apartment. No worries, there are five supermarkets in the town: Utile, Intermarché, Carrefour, Spar and Sherpa. They are not big supermarkets but will provide you with anything you need and they are prepared regarding drinks and such. They will be prepared for the festival-goers and stock up on their supplies (especially Carrefour did stand out regarding this in past years).

There are also some smaller grocery stores and bakeries (boulangerie in French). Don´t miss out on some French patisserie if you´re a sweet tooth, you definitely won´t regret it. Check the opening times in advance as some stores close early or are on a break during lunch.

Mobile signal/WiFi

There is a good mobile coverage across the entire skiing area. However, the connection speed can be a bit slow at times, especially when everyone is back in the town at night. Same goes for the WiFi at the lodgings. Don´t expect it to be the high speed connection you might know from home where you can easily open multiple video streams at the same time.

If you´re from outside of the EU consider buying a cheap pre-paid sim card of companies like Lebara or Lycamobile. You can get them online or at small stores and kiosks (called Tabac in French). Add some credit and book a data package suitable to your needs. In many cases using mobile data offers you a faster and better connection than using the WiFi of your lodging.
